feeling low and demotivated as a creative freelancer?

Welcome back!

So.. Where have I been? Dance & Self Care in Crisis

I’m so sorry for my prolonged silence over the past several months. Long story short, I nearly gave up on all my hopes and dreams as the 2020 lockdown caused all of the dance company events, (Unique Movez Dance Collective), workshops, and other creative plans to be postponed or cancelled entirely. So I felt inclined to check in with you before the end of the year. Today’s blog is all about how I coped with managing self care and keeping my passion alive throughout this turbulent year. So here it goes…

Feeling isolated, overwhelmed with non-stop dance zoom calls

On my Unique Tay Blog and YouTube Channel, I take you behind the scenes, giving you a snippet into my creative lifestyle and my journey through dance & culture. My site (and my life) is dedicated to dance. As an artist, entrepreneur, blogger, podcaster, and founder of Unique Movez Dance Collective, I create content that focuses on dance from every angle.

Working behind the scenes in lockdown

Again, I am sorry for keeping you all in the dark for so many months. As I’m sure you all know, lockdown hasn’t been the best. But there is a breath of fresh air in my life—I got a new job at the beginning of lockdown that gives me a hands-on creative role in dance administration.  With a behind the scenes position, I now work in production, supporting and profiling dance nationally. While I love this role, the non-stop zoom calls can be overwhelming at times. To the point where I have had little energy to attend virtual dance classes or even kick start one myself. I do miss the studio, the energising dance classes and going to the theatre to watch a grand performance. It all feels like a universe ago… In the meantime, I will do what I can with what I have. Which is continue to produce exceptional dance opportunities, provide space and hope for other dancers and creative artists out there. Oh and continue to share my dance lifestyle with you. Now let’s get back on track.

Thank you for reading my blog.
